To Raise Awareness on the Protection of Chimpanzees, Tacugama Screen “More Life” TV Series

The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has witnessed the screening of Tacugama TV series titled, “More Life”. The event which was held at USA Embassy in Freetown attracted government ministries, members of parliament, diplomatic community, NGO’s and the media.

 

 

 

 

 

 

More Life TV series resonates with the Ministry’s July theme of “Environmental Awareness for Eco-tourism” in the year-long Tourism for All Campaign. The film sought to raise awareness about protecting the National Animal (Chimpanzee) as well as implementing punitive measures for those killing and trafficking Chimpanzees.

The USA Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryan Hunt and the Founder of Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Bala Amarasekanen centered their statements on the need for collective efforts and robust awareness inorder to protect wildlife.

The communications Officer of the Ministry, Alieu Kondoh reiterated the above sentiments, adding that the protection of Wildlife, especially the Chimpanzee is imperative for tourism to thrive and also for the sustainability of the environment.

Interactive questions and answers session with the actors of the series and the audience climaxed the occasion.
