The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs (MTCA) has commenced a three-day training session on Etiquette for senior staff of the ministry and its agencies at the ministry’s conference hall in Freetown.
The training, facilitated by Madam Susan Esther Senese of the Senesie Etiquette School, is designed to strengthen professional conduct, communication, and workplace ethics, thereby enhancing the ministry’s service delivery and institutional culture.

Welcoming the consultant facilitator on behalf of the ministry, the Head of Public Affairs and Communications, Mr Emmanuel A.B. Turay, described the training as timely. He underscored its importance in enhancing staff capacity in the basics of office etiquette, including welcoming visitors to the ministry and dining etiquette. Mr Turay also highlighted challenges faced in offices, such as professional communication methods, telephone etiquette, and meeting etiquette, noting that the training will help staff address these gaps effectively.

In her remarks, Madam Senese applauded Minister Nabeela Fareda Tunis and the Permanent Secretary, Madam Judith Jones, for providing the opportunity to train staff in etiquette. She emphasised that the sessions will enhance staff knowledge and skills in office etiquette, thereby improving the ministry’s image and professionalism.
The training marks a significant step in MTCA’s ongoing efforts to build institutional excellence and strengthen service delivery in Sierra Leone’s tourism and cultural sector.
