Arqane “Tycoon” Returns to Freetown to Inspire Youth Through Music and Creativity

Jamaican artist Arqane, popularly known as Tycoon, has safely arrived in Freetown, Sierra Leone, marking his second visit to the country. His return follows his headline-making appearance at last year’s One Nation Reggae Festival and is once again driven by the spirit of the festival, alongside this year’s “Culture and Creativity” campaign led by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs and the “Children Have a Voice” movement.

In collaboration with Leonus Di Genius, Arqane’s visit is focused on inspiring young creatives through music and community engagement. Activities lined up include youth-centered interactions that will bring together artists, young people, and community members, highlighted by a city clean-up initiative and a vibrant youth celebration.

As part of the “Children Have a Voice” initiative, Arqane and Leonus kicked off their school tour at Agape Primary and Secondary School on 23rd March 2026. The duo connected warmly with pupils, delivering an engaging session that emphasized the power of creativity and self-expression through music.

The visit sparked excitement among the students, many of whom actively participated in interactive music sessions, showcasing enthusiasm for singing and artistic expression. Arqane and Leonus are set to continue their school tour, further spreading inspiration and nurturing young talent across Freetown.
