The Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Nabeela Farida Tunis, has joined tourism leaders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders from across the continent for the 69th UN Tourism Regional Commission for Africa and the Thematic Conference on “Strengthening Human Capital to Boost Africa’s Tourism Growth” in Seychelles.

 

 

 

The three-day conference, which commenced today, 2nd July, and runs until 4th July 2026, opened with a formal ceremony that brought together key tourism leaders from across Africa. The opening featured welcome addresses and insightful presentations highlighting the importance of collaboration, capacity building, and investment in human capital as essential drivers for the sustainable growth and competitiveness of Africa’s tourism sector.

Following the opening ceremony, delegates were treated to an exhibition and tour showcasing Seychelles’ locally made products, providing an opportunity to experience the country’s rich cultural heritage, creativity, and thriving local industries

The conference serves as an important platform for African nations to strengthen partnerships, exchange best practices, and develop strategies that will accelerate tourism development across the continent.
