National Communication Authority (NatCA) of Sierra Leone hosted the West African Telecommunications Regulators Assembly (WATRA) Annual General Meeting (AGM ) in Freetown from 19th to 22nd March, 2024 at the Radisson Blu conference hall.
WATRA consists of 16 countries in sub region with different cultural and historical background, they thought it necessary to do sightseeing of Sierra Leone touristic attractions in the western area.
In view of that the ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs prepared a tour packaging and an itinerary for the WATRA Delegation and conducted the city tour on Friday 22nd March, 2024 to selected sites within western area. The places visited are Sierra Leone national museum, cotton tree, state house, maroon church, Big market, correctional center, Peace museum, Tacugama sanctuary. They also visited the new office building of NatCA situated at IMMAT before proceeding to Radisson Blu.
The participants appreciated the tour conducted by the Ministry, saying that it was an opportunity to see the different cultural ,natural and historical attractions sites in Freetown which some are similar within the Sub region.
