The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs (MTCA),NTB and Team in collaboration with Ministry of Finance (MoF) Wrap Up the Tourism Safety Net Support to Beneficiaries in the Western Urban and Rural Areas

The MTCA, National Tourist Board (NTB) in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance including representatives from ACC and NCRA has on today, Tuesday, 18th August, 2020 warped up the disbursement of tourism social safety net support to beneficiaries in tourism establishments and facilities in the Western Urban and Rural Areas at the Radisson BLU Hotel in Aberdeen.

As of date, over 90% of employees whose names were submitted to the NTB and Hotel and Tourism Association (HTA) have received their full cash package of the Social Net Support benefit from the MTCA. The cash disbursement started on Friday 14th August 2020, throughout a five days exercise including Sunday to cover tourism establishment and facilities at both Western Urban and Rural Areas.

The dynamic Hon. Minister of tourism and cultural affairs Dr. Memunatu B. Pratt expressed thanks and appreciation to the Government of Sierra Leone, especially H.E. the President Retired Brigadier Dr. Julius Maada Bio for his passion in making the Tourism industry an enviable sector in sustainable job creation and revenue generation.

In addition the Director of Tourism Mr. Mohamed Jalloh thanked the entire staff of MTCA, particularly the Tourism directorate, NTB, the MoF, the ACC and NCRA for a job well done in the Western Urban and Rural Areas.

The team is hopeful of successful disbursement exercise in the provinces.
