Sierra Leone’s Tourism Sector at FITUR, IFEMA MADRID 2024

Ahead of their participation in this year’s Fitur Exhibition in Madrid, Spain, Sierra Leone’s delegation has held debriefing and other key engagements ahead of the official opening of the event on 24th January, 2024.

Debriefing- Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Nabeela Tunis who also doubles as head of the delegation met with the team and assigned tasks to every participant. The purpose of the debrief was to reiterate the roles and responsibilities of participants to ensure that the desired outcomes are met.

👉Invest in Zambia Breakfast Meeting- The Director of Tourism, Mohamed Jalloh on behalf of Minister Nabeela Tunis represented the sector in the Invest in Zambia Tourism Investment Outlook, Trends and Opportunities breakfast meeting. The meeting which was attended by the Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, (UNWTO) Zurab Pololikashvili placed emphasis on the promotion of Africa-America trade relationship.

👉The UK Tourism representative for Sierra Leone, LOTUS organized a stand visit and capacity training for all participants. The training which was held at IFEMA, Fitur Hall 1 was aimed at directing the course of trade fair with particular reference to what obtains in the Spanish market. Tourism is Life, Best Travel Solutions and Kallon Travels were all part of the session.

👉On the invitation of the Secretary General of UNWTO, Zurab Pololikashvili, Minister Tunis together with the General Manager of NTB, Fatmata Hamid Carew attended the cocktail on the occasion of the 44th edition of the International Tourism Trade Fair (Fitur). During her interaction and networking with global tourism stakeholders, Minister Tunis explained her Ministry’s Year long Tourism for all campaign.
