A high-level delegation from the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, led by the Director of Tourism Travel and Exchange Program, Mohamed Jalloh, conducted an on-the-ground assessment visit to Bureh Beach to evaluate preparedness ahead of the overnight stay of participants in the second batch of the Budapest-Bamako-Freetown Rally.
During the visit, the delegation reviewed key arrangements including security readiness, community participation, hygiene standards, and logistical coordination. Designated parking areas to ensure adequate and secure space for rally vehicles, as well as the overall safety framework required to guarantee a smooth and incident-free overnight experience for participants were also discussed.
The Budapest–Bamako–Freetown Challenge continues to boost Sierra Leone’s visibility on the global adventure tourism map. Authorities remain confident that with sustained collaboration between government, security agencies, and the Bureh community, the country will successfully host the second batch overnight stay and further reinforce its reputation as a welcoming destination for major international events. The second batch of the rally enters Freetown on the 5th March, 2026 ahead of the finish line ceremony at Lumley Beach on the 6th March, 2026.
