5th March, 2026

The second batch of participants in the iconic Budapest-Bamako-Freetown Rally has officially crossed into Sierra Leone through the Gbalamuya border in Kambia. A total of 492 adventurers driving 203 vehicles, including motorbikes, are making their way into the country ahead of tonight’s overnight stop at the scenic Bureh Beach. The atmosphere at the border was vibrant as officials warmly received the convoy, marking another proud moment for Sierra Leone as host of the rally’s historic Freetown finish.

Following their overnight stay at Bureh Beach, the rally teams will proceed to the grand finish line event at Gigibonta Car Park, Lumley Beach in Freetown, on Friday where an exciting reception awaits. Representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, the National Tourist Board, and other key MDAs are on the ground to ensure a smooth arrival and a memorable Sierra Leonean welcome, as the nation prepares to celebrate the successful completion of this remarkable intercontinental journey.
