Key Highlights of the Week- 18-22 September 2023

👉 Tourism and Culture Minister, Nabeela Tunis held discussions with the Headman of Kent village on curtailing anti-tourism practices ahead of the upcoming tourist season. The Minister was accompanied by the Minister of Western Region, Adekunle King.

👉The Ministry and the Project Coordinator of the Sierra Leone Economic Diversification Project (SLEDP) handed-over Leicester Peak site to K5 SL Limited for the construction of viewpoint and other leisure facilities.

👉 The Cultural Directorate of the Ministry held a validation meeting with relevant stakeholders on the development of the strategic plan for the creative and cultural industries.

👉The Tourism Directorate held stakeholders consultative meeting for the strengthening and development of the Sierra Leone tourism industry climate tourism action initiative for the attainment of Sustainable tourism growth.

👉 The Ministry put out a Public Notice informing the public that Leicester Peak site is closed until the completion of the ongoing construction of viewpoint and other facilities.
