Tourism Minister Urges Consultants to Wrap Rehabilitation/Reconstruction of 24 Bedroom Hotel of HTTC

The Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Nabeela Tunis together with key sector players in the tourism industry has met with the management of Milton Margai Technical University, Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management and also inspected the ongoing rehabilitation/reconstruction of the 24-bedroom hotel, Kitchen, Prep/Service and 6 classrooms of the Hotel and Tourism Training Centre at Milton Margai Technical University (MMTU), Brookfields Campus.

The essence of the visit was to assess the ongoing Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) project and also urge the consultants to complete the project before the start of the new school year. Both the Director of Tourism, Mohamed Jalloh and the General Manager of the National Tourist Board, Fatmata Hamid Carew explained the rationale of the project, the impact it will make and the components that make up the project.

In her brief remarks, Minister Tunis commended MMTU for embracing the project and expressed satisfaction with the level on work done thus far, saying that it is satisfactory and should be completed before the start of the new school year. Taking a conducted tour of the edifice, Minister Tunis appreciated the consultants and urged them to speedily complete the project in time.
