Tourism for All Campaign Reaches Tongo-Field

In their relentless drive to explore and promote the value of cultural and touristic sites nationwide, the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs have taken the “Tourism for All Campaign” initiative to Tongo-Field, Kenema District, Eastern Region of Sierra Leone.

 

Local Entrepreneur and Indigiene of Tongo, Abubakarr Achie Fofanah took the Permanent Secretary, Edward Kwame Yankson and Act. Senior Assistant Secretary, Fatmata Samura, on a conducted tour of Nyawa-Inn Resort and Aqua resort to ascertain their status.

After his Tour and assessment of the facilities, P.S. Yankson lauded the impressive face-lift the attractions have brought to the town, saying that it was in line with the Ministry’s private sector-led approach in the tourism industry. He praised the cultural ambiance of the resort and assured of the Ministry’s support in complementing the efforts of the Entrepreneur.

Local Entrepreneur, Abubakarr Achie Fofanah explained that his inspiration to embark on the development of Touristic and cultural sites in Tongo-Field was to provide touristic infrastructures that attracts locals as well as visitors and tourists. He commended the Ministry’s presence in the facilities and looked forward to more partnerships in the development and promotion of touristic and cultural products of Tongo-Field.
