Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Nabeela Tunis has met with Rejoice Terefa Kamara ( TERRY KAY), winner of Little Miss Africa 2022, to facilitate the process for her to represent Sierra Leone in a pageant competition in the USA.
Terry Kay, born in Sierra Leone on 29th February 2016 is a multi-talented young star based in Nigeria and has already made significant achievements in acting, modeling, singing, and activism. She was crowned winner of “Toto Little Miss Africa” competition representing Sierra Leone in Kampala, Uganda. She has also won significant accolades including the multi-talented Kid of the year at the Young Luminary awards ceremony.
In honor of the theme “Culture and Heritage” for the month of May in the Tourism for All Campaign, Terry Kay showcased her talent by reciting a poem celebrating Sierra Leone’s culture and heritage, signaling her commitment to promoting the country’s tourism on the global stage.
Minister Tunis lauded Terry Kay’s accomplishments and pledged the Ministry’s support for her international endeavors.
She encouraged her to continue her schooling with the excellence and diligence maintaining respect for all.
Recognizing Terry Kay’s exceptional talent and dedication, the Ministry has appointed her as one of the young Ambassadors for Tourism, underscoring her role in spotlighting Sierra Leone’s vibrant cultural heritage on the global stage.
The meeting, held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Freetown, was attended by the Director of Culture Creativity and Innovation Mr Foday Jalloh, the Permanent Secretary Mr Kwame Yankson , CEO Little Mister and Miss Africa- Nigeria, Zephania Y. Mansaray who is also the Mother of Terry Kay and CEO of Little Mister and Miss Sierra Leone, Fatmata Sylvia Kamara.
The Ministry continues to promote the country’s rich culture/ heritage and encourages nationals to take advantage of the space it has provided.
