The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, together with its sub-vented agencies, the National Tourist Board (NTB) and the Monuments and Relics Commission (MRC), staged a vibrant and resounding Float Parade on Saturday, 22nd November 2025, in support of the highly anticipated One Nation Reggae Festival. The motorcade, led by a police escort, moved in full cultural flair and drew massive attention from communities across Freetown.








Beginning at the Ministry’s Kingharman Road headquarters, the parade followed designated stopover routes along major city streets, including, Grafton, Jui, Hastings, Calaba Town, PMB, Shell, Ferry Junction, Up Gun, Dwarzark Junction to Lumley Beach via Congo Cross, Wilkinson Road, Lumley. Staff, partners, and international reggae artists Jah Thunder and Lucan I thrilled cheering crowds with powerful reggae rhythms that echoed through each community.
The primary objective of the Float Parade was to heighten public awareness and build momentum for the One Nation Reggae Festival scheduled for 28th November 2025 at the Radisson Blu Garden. Residents lined the streets, expressing excitement and anticipation, many noting that the event promises to be the biggest reggae showcase ever witnessed in Sierra Leone, featuring global headliners such as Sizzla Kalonji, Christopher Martins alongside top Sierra Leonean acts.






The parade also demonstrated strong leadership presence, with Minister Nabeela Farida Tunis actively leading the convoy. She was joined by Permanent Secretary Judith C. Jones, Director of Culture, Creativity and Innovation Foday Jalloh, and Director of Tourism, Travel and Exchange Mohamed Jalloh, all of whom participated enthusiastically, reinforcing the Ministry’s commitment to promoting cultural tourism through music and creative expression.
Freetown’s streets were ignited with colour, energy, and unity throughout the parade. The cultural vibration that swept through the city set the perfect tone for the upcoming festival. As the rhythm intensified and the crowd engagement grew, one message became clear: Freetown is ready, and the One Nation Reggae Festival is set to make history.
