The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs have provided support to Mary Yongai in her Guinness World Record Make-up challenge to makeup 100 people in 24hrs. The challenge which metamophosed into a fun filled event and also gathered personalities and celebrities was held at Bintumani Hotel car park in Freetown from the 30th April to May 1st 2024.
The Guinness World Record make-up challenge falls under the purview of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs and also resonates with it Create and Innovate aspect of the on-going Tourism for all Campaign aimed at harnessing Sierra Leonean talents and showcasing it to the world. The presence of the Minister, Nabeela Tunis and her Deputy, Kadijatu Grace Kamara boasted her confidence in surpassing the Guinness World Record Make-Up Challenge.
The Guinness World Record challenge for Mary Yongai was to make-up 100 people in 24hrs but she surpassed the 100 mark by doing 111 make-up in 24hrs, a feat that will go down as a new Guinness World Record for most make-up done in 24hrs.
Performances from LAJ, Star Zee, Incredible JJ, Krack Twist and other comic acts kept the crowd going all day long.
The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs is poised to continue harnessing and promoting creative and innovative talents in the country.
