As a precursor to the 1st UN Tourism Summit for Africa and the Americas, the Ministry of Tourism and ASONAHORES on 2nd October hosted delegates from twenty- five countries in Africa and the America’s to a welcome Cocktail at Plaza Colonial Paradisus, Palma Real in Punta Cana.
Welcoming the delegates on behalf of the government of the Dominican Republic, the Minister of Tourism , David Collado Morales, expressed his government’s commitment to strengthen the relationship between Africa and the Americas. And encouraged delegates to enjoy the hospitality of the Dominican Republic.
Secretary General UN WTO Zurab Pololikashvili paid tribute to the African Ministers, Ambassadors and senior government officials that made it to Punta Cana for the Summit.
Hon. Nabeela F. Tunis of Sierra Leone used this opportunity to network with her colleague Ministers from Zambia and Zimbabwe who reaffirmed their commitment to be in Freetown for the UN Women in Tourism Regional Congress scheduled to take place on 29th – 31st October, 2024 at the Freetown International Conference Center.
